The illusion with the square and the missing area in the middle, when you rotate the shapes the area in the middle is displaced around the edge of the new square. Look at the 2 states closely, you can see some of the white paper looking out around the edge after it's been rotated. The perimeter of the square is so big comparatively that it's hard to notice so it looks like the empty spot just disappears.
